What a lame review--basically he read back the spec sheet.
this reads like the reviewer has only seen pictures of the laptop. Why no comments about actual performance?
because he's obviously never laid hands on it. this is a different type of review where the reviewer just reviews the spec sheet.

The front page of the site says "Pocket-lint.co.uk has got its hands on one of the first Acer Ferrari 3200 laptops in the UK. We check out the new model to see if it matches up to the sports car brand"

They did say in the review that they ran battery tests on their unit. It does sond to me that they have the laptop. No heat problems? Sounds good...

Hmm, no heat problems? I didn't read that anywhere...

But they do mention getting more out of your laptop elsewhere so I'm wondering what's elsewhere.

just noticed this today, but the review seems to keep bitching about how it only ships with the home edition of winxp. just checked the press release from acer, doesn't it actually ship with the pro edition?

Yes, yes it does. I saw that too but thought it wasn't much worth mentioning. We can even check www.pctorque.com and see this as well. Maybe they got one of the prototype models or something?

I know it ships with WinXP home in other countries. I believe this reviewer could be reviewing a UK version.

Ship Date

The shipping date for the Ferrari has been pushed back again - to the second week of June.
UK version ships with Windows XP Home.

The reviewer as stated above has not even seen the machine in my opinion....he hass defo created the "Exclusive" - NOT review from research on the net - fairly pathetic.

Shipping date in the UK is also a very vague 16th june - 28th june from acer.......fairly bad - Obviously trying to get rid of the rather large world stock of the 3000.

I read that review, didnt tell me much. Anyone have any links to actual user reviews, possibly somewhere on this site? Thanks
post #14 of 15
I doubt there will be any user reviews until the units actually start shipping.

According to the Acer UK web site it's available in the UK with XP Home or XP Pro - two different part numbers.
