When Ordering Office from Dell...

Hi,

I'm thinking about ordering Office 2003 Pro from dell. My question is, is this a special dell version? Or is it the normal version that you could pick up in the store if you wanted?

If it is a special dell version, I assume it's only installable on dell computers?

It's a normal version. I got the MS Office Pro 2003 that came with MS Money (which I don't need). It is 3 discs:

MS Office Pro 2003
Business Contact Manager (works in Outlook)
MS Money 2004 Standard

If you have any kids in school or are taking collage courses yourself I'd run to like Best Buy or something and pick up the Student Teacher Edition of MS Office. Its only like 160.00


I got lucky .. I work for Air Force Space Command and I was able to order thru the Home Use Program and Get Office 2003 Pro for only $21.03 Just arrived in the mail today.
It came with the following:
Word 2003
Excel 2003
Outlook 2003
Powerpoint 2003
Access 2003
Publisher 2003
InfoPath 2003

Thanks for the tip. But I need to do some access coding, and from what I can see it only comes in the Pro edition =/.

Yeah, if you are a student or teacher, get the Office "Standard for Students and Teachers." It has Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. The 2003 version is $150 at my local Best Buy, and the older 2002 version (which I'm using now) is only $100 if you are looking to save some money.

Wouldn't Office purchased via Dell be an OEM version that can only be used with the first computer it is installed on too??

If you know anyone in college, have them go to their campus store and check for you. I got mine at University of Buffalo for $1.68. It's a full edition too
