Doesn't Hypersonic want to make a sale? - Page 2

Honestly, I'm reconsidering my stand on this. Hypersonic really should be better with their emails. Not to mention their build time. On the site their 'projected' turn around time is 10-14 days. Bah. My build time is almost a month!

We'll see how fast they get it to me. I haven't recieved an email back yet (been three days) regarding my order status. Surprise surprise! I'll be giving them a call on Monday, see what's up. At least I'm not worried that it could be crap like the Dell 9100... what a mistake...

Sorry for being such a newb but...what does it mean when your system is burned in?

I've been waiting for the HS AX7, but after reading many posts on a few forums I'm beginning to lean towards waiting for Sager's NP4750, which should be the same as the AX7. I guess it'll depend on when they come out though. If they appear at roughly the same time (shipping, not posting for pre-order) then I'm guessing a Sager would arrive faster than an HS. Though both should be excellent machines.

From HyperSonic's website:
72-Hour Burn-in & 128-Point Quality Control Process
The burn-in process subjects the system to an extreme degree of stress by running multiple system intensive applications simultaneously for a 72-hour period. This process helps ensure that your system will work flawlessly out of the box and for years to come. In addition to the burn-in, every subcomponent of the system is individually tested for functionality and performance.

The burn-in, as Hypersonic puts it:

"72-Hour Burn-in & 128-Point Quality Control Process

This process helps ensure that your system will work flawlessly out of the box and for years to come. EDIT: Whoops, my window didn't refresh right... didn't see that FuSoYa already responded. My bad.

I understand returning e-mails is VERY important, & Hypersonic is not good at that! We have heard this time & time again
But what's wrong with your phone system? Can you get off your computer for 1 min. & use your telephone? It's a 800 number= free call. The people I've talked to at Hypersonic have been very nice. I want to hear a voice on the other end of the phone that's going to take my $4200 . Everybody wants to think that they bought from the best place. Who cares! If your happy then that's all that matters! It's all about choices Baby!

4Speed,
I actually did call both companies (as that is important too). But like I said above:
I wanted a few quick answers (in writting) so I could make my final determination between two companies. Also, in this case (of that particular email), it was a Wednesday before their business hours when I made the email request. They got back to me after hours on Friday night. I went with PC Torque on Friday afternoon.

I know you ordered you system from Hyper 1 day after I ordered from PCT (with the same color custom paint too... and all the same specs). It will be interesting to compare our experiences. Obviously we SHOULD both EXPECT to be happy and taken care of.... I assume we will.

If I was a betin man ALL of my money would go to you & your notebook to arrive first. So I except to see your review 1st on how your silver beast kicks serious butt!
(With Pictures) I understand about your last post!

I feel obliged to chime in here… I personally have emailed hypersonic (sales@..) and have always received prompt, detailed and professional responses.

It seems somewhat strange that people here are having very divergent experience here (Animasaki, MagicRobin, Mr.Woo) on this thread have received good feedback where others have received none. My guess (MagicRobin’s as well) is that it is likely a spam filter issue, (I’ve particularly noticed this with free email providers). Before forming an opinion I think potential customers should at least send them an email themselves.

I think the more important point here is that many here are using the sales response time as a prognostication of POST SALES service and support. And here again, I feel that being a Hypersonic customer for almost 6 months now, I can make certain statements with good authority.

For example, as early as last week, I called their support number (to ask about a utility program I downloaded) and a technician picked up on the second ring. This was not the first time I contacted support (I’m somewhat of a demanding customer) and have never had a problem getting instant support from an actual tech. Ditto with customer service (cs@hy...). Others here have also posted about just how good their cs is. Very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and responsive.

[edit: they have 2 support numbers; in house and after-hours. the in-house is available mon-fri 10-7. the after hours is outsourced and not the greatest)

Anyways, I’m typing way too much here for an unpaid PR person. Nuff said.

stangs55- hyperosnic is notoriously bad about shipping systems, you should have thought of that before you ordered

i have sent them an email or two, they always reply it just takes a really long time

Well, I just got a response from Hypersonic on Monday. It takes them a bit, but they do respond, so that's a good thing.

Just thought I would chime in as well. I emailed them 3 times, always got a reply the next day.

Also I ordered my system 5/10 with a qouted time of delivery of 6/7. It was actually shipped 5/28 and it is on its way to me now.

That's the fastest I've heard so far, good stuff . What system did you get? Did you get it painted? Any painted accessories? Did you get the extra no-dead-pixel-policy? Just trying to figure out how they shipped it so fast, in case I end up going with HS. Thanks.

Just thought I'd put in my 2 cents.

I e-mailed Hypersonic a while back and asked them a few questions. No reply. Two weeks later sent them the same e-mail. Still no reply.

I sent Voodoo the same e-mail asking the same questions, and got a reply within 24 hours, and e-mailed back and forth about 5 or so e-mails with Voodoo.

Then about a week ago (a month after my second e-mail), I got a phone call from Hypersonic. I was quite surprised, since I'm in South Africa and that must have been an expensive call.

I had to tell them I'm going with Voodoo, as they are in Canada, and that is where I'll be visiting and I was not sure how the whole customs duties works between the Canadian/American border.

I would have liked to go with Hypersonic, as their machines are more customisable than Voodoo. But after working out a Hypersonic after tax and customs, the price was about the same as the Voodoo machine, I think $100 to $200 cheaper. Not a biggy.

:L:

P.S. - I place my order for the Voodoo Envy m780 last night (equivilant of Sager 8790 and Hypersonic GX7). Now the wait begins, but I'll only be arriving in Canada on 24 July, so there's lots of time.

For those of you who haven't yet received e-mail responses from hypersonic, you may want to check your spam filters. I had to get my registration confirmation e-mail out of my spam folder. If I haden't have had that sort of experience before, I would have never thought to check there.

I got a GX7 w/ 3.4 p4, 1 gig ram, wifi, winxp pro, no dead pixel guarantee. Unfortunately I did not get it painted, which is probably a reason it shipped faster than usual.

System would have actually been here sooner if it had not been for the 3 day weekend, the wait was killing me!

Back in March, I emailed Hypersonic about their 8790 equivalent. I immediately received an auto-confirmation email from them telling me, "Thank you for your blahblahblah, someone will email you soon blahblahblah." Well, it's June now and I still haven't received my answer. Needless to say, PC Torque definitely won the day there. Tom has always been very fast in replies. I don't think I've ever waited more than a day- generally I receive answers within the hour. Like Freestyle, I expect customer service for the money I'm paying. I shouldn't have to make a phone call in order to get results. I'm in Japan, so the time difference and the cost are factors for me. The fact that PC Torque can provide such timely service in contrast to Hypersonic's apparent inability to keep up w/ their emails puts them in a bad light. Just like Freestyle said, if I don't get answers to emails, I'm going to assume that I'm not going to get emails from service calls, either. And that's unacceptable. Perhaps it's not so, but it's the only way I've got to judge their reliability. And considering that I received their auto-reply email just fine, I don't consider the possibility of it going into my spambox a valid excuse. My email also costs me ~$40/yr, so it's not a matter of having a free acct, either. It's simple- Hypersonic dropped the ball.

According to this thread, there's at least 4, if not more, units that Hypersonic has lost due to poor email support. Someone might want to forward this thread on to their Customer Service Dept. so they can get a heads up about staffing their online support section a little better. I know if I was running a business and I read about issues like this in my own company on a competitor's website, I'd be P!$$ed!! Heads would be rolling.
