Things to do....

What are some of the things you will do with your old desktop/notebook once your new Alienware arrives. I was thinking that my dog needed a new place to sleep so I will give it my old notebook, it should keep my dog nice and warm!

We use my old crashpac as a "guest" computer whenI go to work so that our children won't have the opportunity to screw up the wife's computer!

put linux on it.... turn it into a:

-web server
-DNS server or cached name server
-email server
-mp3 server
- dhcp server
- firewall (use openBSD for this)

many many uses... dont waste those old machine make them work for you!

a copy of openBSD is absolutely free and is a MUCH better firewall than any software or shareware you'll put on your machine.

well, my old notebook is actually from my dad's work and the main reason i got my alienware was because he needs to take it back soon. otherwise i would have held off on my purchase for a while.
