Question about 2nd Media Bay bracket

OK, got my second 60GB/5400 drive in my hot little hand... when I get home (am at work now) I will go about installing this bad boy.

My question is to anyone with an 8886/8887 that ever ADDED a second HD to the media bay #2:
[i]Is the "blank" bracket that is in the empty media bay interchangable (in anyway) with the bracket that the HD comes with (I ordered it with a bracket)?

The drive w/ bracket is seen here, but is the bracket that comes with the machine (and an empty bay #2) the whole thing, less the adapter part?

The drive I got has two small screws to remove the IC that would be the "adapter part" - I'm hoping to just put all the "guts" into my custom-colored bracket - should it be able to take it.

Allow myself to introduce... myself!

OK, I suppose the best source of info on this is ME now... it's done.

In short: YES, you can transfer the guts from the shipped drive to the painted (empty) bracket. I have photos and everything, as soon as Adam (or Laura) get my e-mail and put them somewhere referencable, I will post a photo-laden How-To.

The ONLY bummer I experienced was the single tab that is screwed down holding the bay cover in was cracked and broke (well a big chip of it) - must have had the screw over-tightened by ColorWare when they took it apart to paint. Anyway, nothing a drop or two of Krazy Glue didn't fix. So I am UP and RUNNING with dual 60GB drives!

So should I leave my sig "DUAL 6o GB" or say "12o GB" ? Ah who gives a crap, I got 120GB in my laptop baby!

I'll put the photos up next week or so.
