HT and games...
It might be possible that HT will improve performance when you have a server and game running at the same time but I dont run servers at all - I just join a server which already exists and there are loads out there for you to go play in - why start one yourself!?!?And in any case - we have a central university server where they have allowed us to use the full bandwidth from 11:00pm to 6:00am everyday!! and thats when we all join up and play BF1942
HT does not improve the fps in the games unless future games are written to recognize the capability. I imagine future game programmers will take HT into consideration because imagine running your rendering and gameplay simultaneously in parallel using HT !!!
That will result in ultra high fps and no dropping of frames anymore. No lag!!
I personally feel HT is still in its infancy and we can all afford to wait for it to bloom...I am happy with my 5660 with the 2.8Ghz CPU and challenge anyone with all settings same for a head to head system performance test...
HT is nice to have - maybe not worth the price at the moment...
