Just Ordered ABS Mayhem G2!

I just ordered the Mayhem G2 (aka CX6, Mitac 8050) from ABS today. They were offering $100 off if I ordered this weekend and I couldn't refuse. I got the following specs:

15.4" WXGA
4X DVD+RW
1.8 Dothan
1 GB Ram
60 GB 7200 HD
ATI 9700
802.11G/B Wireless
Windows XP Pro

The final damages came out to be 2300 with s&h included. As soon as I get it I'll be sure to post a full review!

No he didnt. The same conifguration from Hypersonic costs 2,734. He saved at least 400 dollars.

And thats without shipping costs.

Or he could have gotten it from voodoodoo for $3376 (and only gotten the 9600).

holy damn that thing is quite a stallion.
i hope you're all kidding too, because that seems like a pretty decent value as well. not fantastic, but i've seen much worse.
nice case, too. congrats.

Damn, just looked at abs' site. They list the mayhem G2 as only having a 3 hour battery life. Winbook makes the same lappy yet it yields only a 3.5hr battery life. I guess it's safe to say any lappy based on the mitac 8050 chassis only yields a 3.5hr battery life. I'm praying that Hypersonic's CX6 shows the boasted 4-5hr battery life.

I just went to www.jrtech.com where they also sell the 8050 and I configured it exactly like that of the guy who created this thread and it came out to 2,149.00 without shipping. So, the price that ABS is selling it for is definetely not bad.

I guess you could get this system for a little bit less if you purchase the barebone (from, say, HyperData Direct) and install the components yourself. But things could go wrong and there may not be a warranty. ABS is a great company and I think this is a good deal.

umm... personally i like 1400x1050 better than 1200x800.

laptop dvd burners run what, $200?

imo i would not have paid 2300 for the abs.

agreed endernet

Oh man, that laptop from internetishop is so much better than my eMachines M6809... better resolution, gfx card, double ram, better battery life, faster hard drive. Only major difference other than that is the proccessor, I think my AMD athlon 64 beats the pent M.

But all those better features for only 300 dollars more.

Thanks for all the support... hopefully this thing will be a beast. I need it to last me my last few years of college and withstand some gaming.

mad milo & layzie:
I actually did quite a bit of research on laptops before I decided on this one. Compared to the same laptop from Hypersonic,GamePC, or Voodoo; I think I got a pretty good deal. The 30 day money back gaurantee was the kicker.

It should ship out this Thur/Fri and then 3-5 days shipping. So it should be here anytime in the 2nd week of June.
