Zforce F2 vs Aspire 2025WLMI

Thread Starter
I am now trying to decide between acer aspire 2025WLmi ,ABS zforce F2,Acer 8006LMI and Battalion 101 E-turbo ...
i am going to use this machine for college
but i also play a lot of games
they all have the same vid card and almost the same price
but performance wise which one do u think is better
or which one would u suggest
the only difference i can find is the HDD, (aspire didn't mention their HDD speed)
and the Widescreen... would gaming looks really bad on widescreen?
Thanks

btw is there any new Review of ABS Zforce F2 or Battalion 101 E-turbo or Acer 8006LMI?

the acer 2025 comes with a shi**y 4200rpm 80gb HDD so its high price is really ridiculous. The ABS zforce G2 is based on the mitac 8050 chassis. www.rjtech.com sells the same lappy for a much cheaper price and has a very high reseller rating. Same specs for a cheaper price. You're in the same boat as me. Im currently deciding between these two lappys and at the moment I'm actually leaning towards the e turbo. There are 3 major complaints about the e turbo. One is the see-through keyboard which some people find to be chinzy looking. Personally, I like it. Another complaint is that the exhaust vent is situated on the right site thus all the heat is blown onto your hand while using a mouse. The solution is simple: most mice come with 6ft cords, keep your hand away from the vent while gaming. the only complaint that I've heard that is kinda freaky is that the lappy doesn't respond to more than 2 simultaneous key presses so if you're playing a game where your pressing many keys, it may take a while for the lappy to respond.
Here are two reviews based on it (keep in mind that both of the reviewers have the older version of this lappy with the 64mb 9600 video card, not the 128mb 9700)

***both reviewers mention that the screen has great contrast and color which has taken my away from the CL56 which is essentially the same yet it has complaints concerning the screen. also, ibuypower offers sweet paintjobs!!!

As for the mitac 8050, there are virtually no reviews to speak of at the moment. However, one thing to note is that the G2 is listed as having only a 3hr battery life which is dissapointing for a Pentium M notebook. the e turbo has a 4.5-5hr battery life. winbook also makes a lappy based on the mitac 8050 and it only has a 3.5hr battery life.

I was in the same boat...and I went with the 2025. I am VERY happy with my purchase. I took out the 4200rpm hd and put in a 5400rpm 80gb hd. The swap was simple and painless using Acer's recovery CD's (if your looking into that route).

I can't say much about the mitac, but the screen on the 2025 is absolutly AMAZING. It's simply one of the best laptop screens that I've seen--easily comparable to Sony's XBrite. And, personally, when comes down to two comparable notebooks w/essentially the same specs, the deciding factor for me is #1 screen quality and #2 build quality. And quite frankly, you would be hard pressed to find a lappy w/ a better screen AND a case that is this freakin' sturdy.

Good luck with your decision.

Does anyone know if HP ships recovery disks with all their systems? I have a desktop from them that is two years old and the HDD is starting to get a little "weird" so im planning on upgrading. I'd rather not spend the extra $90 for a copy of XP Home. Thanks for any responses guys.
