It depends what you're going to be using your computer for...and also how big you like your screen resolution to be. It's got a 15 inch screen but max resolution is pretty low at 1024x768 XGA. The harddrive is a 60 gig 4200rpm, which is a little slow even for laptop standards. It has 32 megs of intergrated video memory, which is enough to run applications, but won't do anything for videogames. 4 USB 2.0 ports, combo drive seem solid. The processor however is a pentium 4-m. It's sort of outdated, as the Pentium M has replaced it. Anyway, that's all I can say for now. Personally, it's not my kind of system, because I like to play games;] Please post what type of usage you intend for your comp to undergo, and then I as well as others can give you a better idea.

Will you be doing any sort of graphics design etc? with photoshop or other intensive programs? :] If so, I'd suggest getting a system with a real videocard and one that has better screen resolution. Are you looking to definitely get a Toshiba and what is your price range?

If possible, check out the eMachines 6805. It has a powerful mobile athlon processor 3000+ (1.8ghz), nice graphics card (64 meg radeon 9600), 512 MB ram, and a 60 gig HD all for 1,499 and then there's a 100 dollar rebate to make it 1,399. if you get it at BestBuy there's another 150 dollar rebate until June 5th! bringing the total price down to about 1249 (without tax). It'll be able to render filters etc. much much faster than the Toshiba you mentioned earlier.

thats kinda a pickle then.....take a look at a customized m30x if you are having to use toshiba, you may be able to come in around your budget amount for it. and i think it would be faster than the a45...although for some uses the a45 is a very nice machine and will certainly do alot of things for alot of people but i think there may be better for you than the a45.
