I've been hearing all of the hype about how great the new Athlon 64 chips are.

I've been running this P4 3.0 for about a year. Asus P4C800 deluxe, the works.

Time for a change..........

I've got my mind set on a Athlon 64 3000+ CPU. Question is MOBO.

ASUS K8V SE Deluxe or MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R?

Any experience with either of these?

i would wate if i where you id get the PCI express and a 3d card to match it around Oct. when the price is a little lower thats what im going to do im still running a P4 2.4 533 and a grforce 4 ti4600 and i run my games at 1600x1200 with max details (Ut2004, bf 1942, farcry,) just to name a few so if you can wate youll be happy that you did

i was thinking about the amd 64 3000+ also and i was gonna get the asus k8v, but i dont know if i should wait for pci express, or if i can even afford pci express when it comes out , i need my computer soon so i can play hl2

Thanks for the replies.

Right now my PC is running at 3300mhz, 9800 Pro, 2xSATA 120 WD,etc. It's no slouch!

We decided to take a trip down to Frys for their Memorial Day sale, Picked up a Athlon 64 3000+. Also slipped in a Asus K8V SE Deluxe. I'm happy with the prices.

However, I must be a nut! They also had a combo deal. P4 2.4+PC Chips MB for $100. I hope its a C1 clocking.

I know. It was too good of a deal to pass up.

Anyways, I'm waiting for a Buslink 80gig External HD so I can backup all my games.

LMK if you guys would like a mini review/comparison in the real world.
