I was about to mention this one. This looks like it will be the greatest RTS ever. Have you seen the video footage of the demonstration from E3? Holy crap, I nearly wet myself.

lol, your enemies are the mutated version of the weaker sex....? i think i'll pass on that one unless i am desperate for laughs. is that thing even real?
Yeah, it is. The whole synopsis is pretty interesting. They shouldn't have used "weaker sex", but it seems like all the women on the planet are mutating into a sort of collective and the art looks pretty nasty(in a good way). Kind of plays off on all man's innate mistrust and fear of all things vaginal.

p.s.-I didn't mean that as an anti women statement.

lol, wow. you dont find it funny? lol, i am laughing my ass off that this is the plot. a virus that has mutated the "weaker sex" into some kind of killing machine.
Well, it's not any harder to believe than a virus that turns living people into zombies or brings dead people to life and certainly not any funnier. (Half Life, Resident Evil, etc.) It's just a virus that happens to mutate the female DNA and not the male. Standard movie/tv/videogame plot stuff. But if you think it's hilarious, who am I to argue? I was merely thinking about how the developers seem to be, whether consciously or not, making a Freudian statment. Maybe a parody on the whole Freudian phenomenon.

i never said it was stupid or bad, i just said it was funny. it is completely freudian, i am just wondering if the mind behind the idea is a male or female...
Probably male. On another note, I like how all these European developers are popping up all over the place, and cranking out games by the dozen. They do quality work and they do it pretty quickly. Plus, the games they make usually tend to have less of a retail price than all the big name U.S. companies. There's a game called Hellforces I'm also keeping my eye on. Looks like a standard FPS blast fest versus demons and zombies., but I can't get enough of those.

Scorched Earth is the beast. Love it. Haven't gotten it to play right on any of my newer computers for years, tho' *pout*

And I 2nd the motion for Grim Fandango being a killer game. Hilarious stuf. Never did finish that one...

As for what I'm looking forward to... not much on my horizon, really. I'm not a FPS type guy, so Doom3 and HL2 haven't made my pulse rise at all.

I'm an Alpha tester for Guild Wars, so I don't have to wait for that game, really

Be interesting to see how Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 turn out, but unfortunately, neither one's even been announced. And I'm figuring they'll both go 3D, so that'll dampen my enthusiasm. I like 2D. Just a simple guy, I guess. Along that vein, I wish there were a Baldur's Gate 3 (in 2D). Currently playing NWN again, but it's just not the same.

ok, my two cents:

best games of the past (I've played and played and played and still do sometimes):

1) Mafia
2) COD
3) Homeworld
4) Grim fandango
5) oh sure.. this is really old: HALF LIFE!!!

Best games of the present:
Not sure.. there's not much out there... I would say:
1) Far Cry (for the graphics... but only played once in single... the multiplayer implementation is not fun)

Best games still to arrive:
1) Halflife 2
2) Doom3
3) STALKER
And any MMORPG big eough and interesting enough... I would love a Mafia 2 multiplayer...

Thank you very much Sephiroth 209. That site links to quite a few others that are very useful. I didn't know that fans had taken up the cause to re-create or re-vitalize the Adventure gaming genre. I was begining to loose hope until I saw the Kings Quest Remakes.

Now, does anyone know or can recommend a good DOS emulator so I can re-play the oriiginals too? Link(s) would be of assistance. While I could do a Google search, I'd like to know what others have used successfully and prefer.
