Mac software question - Bazoo plse read :)

There are quite a few Mac power users here, perhaps you can answer a question for me?

I am looking for Mac software that can do the following:

Open and edit MP2 files and then save the files as RealMedia (.rm)

Real have their own Real Media producer (and Helix) but this is really a very basic program and you can't precisely edit any large file in it. On PC I use Soundforge - excellent program, but without a Mac version.

So, do any of you know of a OS X program that can help?

Thanks!

P.S. In case there is any confusion - I'm not actually looking for the program itself - just the name

Humm ... perhaps there are no Mac powerusers here after all ...

(Guess I'll just have to try one of those Mac forums, and who is going to help a lowly PC user there?)

Sorry we can't help you much. Bazoo let the forums after he returned his laptop due to techincal problems. I wish I could help you but I've only used Mac's a little and probably know less than you.

I have a couple suggestions, however I'm not positive if they will work. First is to try Adobe Premiere. I'm fairly confident that this program can read MP2 files (not a 100% sure), and even though it's for video & sound editing, you may be able to run just sound through it. Premiere also supports exporting files as Real Media, Windows Media formats, and Quicktime (which I prefer the most).
There is another program I believe is called Cleaner which converts files into different ones, and is suppose to be very versatile. Im not sure if this one supports .rm files, but it's worth looking in to. I hope these help in some way.

Hey Krazerz,

Thanks, I never thought of Premier, it's logical that Adobe would make a crossplatform program. I'll try to find out more.

Unfortunately Cleaner 6 (which was the program I intended to use) only provides the "save as RM" option on OS 9. That isn't anything I can use.

Premiere is your best bet. There are not a lot of RealMedia export programs. I think there is also a software called Cleaner which will do the trick.
