Need Advice - CyberPower S4-3200 vs. Acer Ferrari 3200 - Page 2

how about some pics? particularly from the sids, bottom, and keyboard layout

is the fn key in teh right place/etc
go to the s4-3200 customization page. go to the picture of the yellow lappy which is in the shape of a mountain. On the top there is a series of holes which I can only see as being a heat vent.

i dont think thats the same notebook

coz the uniwill url has a 14" screen and integrated graphics notice the keyboard color too, the uniwill is grey, while the s43200 is black
post #24 of 43
its some sort of uniwill tho... not listed on their website
post #25 of 43
damn, you're right. I guess it's back to the drawing boards... Well I emailed cyberpower asking them the chassis, I dont see any reason for them not to tell me.
Anyway, this system seems so much like the battalion e turbo. I wonder if it really is the aopen 1557 and they just have the wrong picture. wouldn't be the first time.
damn rince, cant you just do single posts? I defended you about double posting on one of my threads but triple posting? whats the point?
are you sure it's a uniwill?
xxhOly-honestly, watz the problem? The only thing I have a problem with is creating many threads all on the same topic such as the yghs guy did concerning the ferrari 3200...it was very annoying. However, the multiple posts aren't going to jump out of the screen and kill you. Watz the point of complaining about such a small thing?
I'll go get my crucifix, watch out rince, we're going to crucify you.

Look at the 4 pictures listed. Two of them are shots of the left side, and they are different notebooks. Also look at the 4 pictures and you will see at least 2 different styles of touchpad. So... What this notebook really looks like is a mystery.

haha i just noticed that

maybe they forgot to update their pics or something

im pretty sure its a unwill because they r the only ones that put speakers on the LCD
post #31 of 43
lol nevermind, its not horrible just something i noticed, three borken posts instead of a 2 sentence one, doesnt make any sense to me.......o well........i'll shut up now :P

no biggy, xxhOly, just thought I would comment.
I think the s4-3200 is something to stay away from. too many typos and mistakes on the customization page for my liking.

Thread Starter
I didn't see any typos. Can you point me to some? Anyway I emailed them too. Also, in looking at the pictures on the first customize page for the S4, I noticed that the discrepancy in the pictures is probably because they are of different notebooks. I think what Cyberpower did is just use pictures it had of other notebooks to illustrate the colors they offer. (Look at the thickness of the different colors and the ports on the back - particularly the difference between the green and the blue ones).

I hope it's legit. If it is, I'll be the guinea pig as I'll be ordering one shortly.

Post a review if I do.

The left side of the S4 looks very similar to the MiTAC 8050, but the keyboard is slightly different, could the S4 be a 8050?
kethalmanden, go with the P-M system... performance diff to the athlon64 system will be minimal. you will save $300 and get more memory, a lot more battery time, and a much faster HD

btw is anyone else here noticing that prices on mobile systems are dropping very quickly... i think i am going to wait till the 4th quarter to buy a new system
post #36 of 43
its dropping coz dothan release dropped the price on all banias chips

jester: there's not chance that the S4-3200 is the mitac 8050. Consider this, the S4 uses a 15" screen while the mitac 8050 has a 15.4WXGA screen.

This was formerly posted by deltawalkerl in another thread concerning the S4-3200, yes, I know how to use the search button : "The CyberPower S4 series uses the AOpen 1557G, which is definitely not widescreen. Not only are the pictures wrong, a lot of the specs are wrong as well. In fact, the configuration page specs and the page that contains only specs contradict each other. The claim for the 855GM chipset contradicts with the claim for Mobility Radeon 9600. (The GM chipset indicates integrated graphics only). The claim for the M Radeon 9600 Pro is also incorrect. The screen is probably a SXGA+, not a WSXGA+. I wouldn't be suprised if it turns out to be a XGA."
delta, can you confirm this? I guess this makes sense since ibuypower's battalion e turbo, which uses the same chassis also has the same specs. If so, then the pictures of the S4-3200 on cyberpower's site are not of the 1557G

Touche Tourney.

The contradictions had me confused, makes sense that it would be the AOpen anyone manage to get in contact with Cyberpower, inc.?

I haven't heard back from them in over 24 hours. That's enough for me to not to order from them. I am looking elsewhere now.
