Dell tech guy just came. The problem was a bad LCD connector. When he pushed on it the screen came good. So he just replaced the whole screen and connector. I had a good look at the new screen and it is a Samsung! Seems to have a slightly better viewing angle but i cant say for sure.

The old one was by "Quanta Display Inc" - anyone know who they are???
