Users of 8790: how to get the microphone work?

Just get 8790 back from sager, they replaced my LCD panel cause it was flikering. BUT
the microphone is not working.

I tried every possible setup, options in XP PRO, no luck, neither the built-in nor the front panel jack.

Can anyone tell me how to make the microphone work?

Mine did this when I first rec'd it, I had to install the latest drivers and both started working. Too bad there is TERRIBLE interference with it now. I did not have this problem with my last unit.
