I will most definitely post a review on the 8887 and the 5670 as well.
I ordered a 5670 for my manager at the same time... same specs!

congrats on a sweet machine. just curious why you opted for the extra power adapter.

And here we thought you were worried about that whole power-adapter frying business...

… Further more: I’m thinking of getting an extra battery to leave at the office, and remove the floppy drive.
Imagine how much less weight I would have to carry!

BTW, how easy is it to remove the floppy ??

The floppy drive looks built in to me. I dont think you can remove it.
The floppy is swappable. I swap my floppy drive with my CD drive all the time. It's pretty easy - just flip the laptop over and push the latch while pulling the drive out.

dgantony.

Sorry. I was thinking about my 5660. I apologise. Sorry about the confusion.

Uh Oh. Does that mean I should stop pulling on my floppy?

congratz. I am glad to see someone able to make a decision because I am still lingering around waiting. Sooner or later I am going to realize I am waiting for the wait and give in to buy!

Decision

Albert… it took me about 2 months to decide. I’ve extensively researched most all options and brands.
Even if the 5670 came out, I opted for the 8887 since weight was not a big concern.
I wanted a true desktop replacement with all possible options to last me for the next 5 years.
The 16.1 screen is amazing!
Good luck!

Personal Log:
Waiting date 3
The lack of sleep is getting to me.
The nightmares of the UPS plane with my 8887 on board not making it is continuing.
The only good news is the arrival of the email with the much anticipated tracking number.
Why was the weekend invented... now it will take 2 more days to get here!!!

HELP!
