Computer freeze when fans spin up.

This is really wierd, everytime my fans spin up on my 8887 anything im doing skips for a second or 2. If im watching a movie the movie just pauses and skips for a bit while the fans spin up. Why does the computer lag when fans spin up? This makes no sense. Anyone else have the same problem and/or been able to fix it?

Strange, I would load up SiSoft Sandra and run some benchmarks. Also reset default settings in the bios. You haven't installed any programs that try to monitor the system and fan RPMs have you?

Do you have the Intel Application Accelerator installed? If so, check your settings for the HD and keep it to always on.

Although it sounds like bad power-management within the system, the AppAccel check is quick and easy (and a "just incase")

What does the Intel app accellerator do exactly. Is it necessary?

The HD would have to be always on while watching an SVCD from the HD right? WHen watching SVCD's on the HD it sometimes skips. I think it might be the program i'm using though (Winamp 2.9 beta) might not be perfect in video yet, i will try another player like windvd.

I will also try SiSoft Sandra. Also, I DID install MBM5 but then i uninstalled it. So i don't know if that is any issue now. It does the skip while playing games too. I'll reset the BIOS settings and try different power management settings. Right now in the BIOS it is on Low Power Management.

Skipping

Many applications can cause skipping... In my case it is Argosoft Mail Server. I always make sure it is off when playing games and such, because it makes the playing impossible...

I dont think the fans are causing it. But I dont have anything else running. I play an MP3 with only winamp open nothing else rnning in background. after 2 mins, mp3 starts to skip. will skip little bit, then be fine, then skip again 2 mins later. While it skips the mouse is also locked up. It seems like the system stutters for a second. Usually there is no disk activity when it skips too. SO fr i'm stumped.

I have the same prob
but I only notice it in Logic/sound forge/audacity
Whenever the fans start up or stop
the whole system hangs for about a second

If I'm recording audio I get a 1 sec BUZZZ in the audio file.

I saw a bios update here http://www.clevo.com.tw/download/ftp...=8&submit=+GO+

but don't know which one to use for 8880 and what it fixes if anything

The only solution I found is to go in bios and disable all power saving options

yea but then the fans are on the whole time. =\

i already got the latest bios for my 8887 and it didnt help that, nor did it help with the keyboard/touchpad freezing.
