woah. simply amazing this machine is quick! i mean woa. Thing looks great too, hypersonic really did a first class job on this. keyboard is awsome. only negative thing i have to say is when the dvd drive gets going it gets slighly noisy but nothing to bad normally its dead quiet. i have been installing stuff so i haven't had time to play any games on it, but when i do ill make sure to report how it goes! Again hypersonic did a great job with this thing! If you have any specific questions ill try and answer them but like i said right now im kinda busy. Oh and when HS benchmarked the system in 3d01 it had a score of 11251

chris

edit just got your PM so here it goes, the keyboard is really nice i have typed a few laptop keyboards and this one definatly feels like the best one. As for the case since its not painted really i think it would hold up great to wear and tear. and the screen is just awsome i mean i love it, the only notebook that i can really compare it to is my GFs widescreen HP and to me this screen seems sharper.

Just wondering about any heat issues, particularly where you put your wrists.

If you do get a chance to play a game id like to know how noisy the fan is.

AZ stop messing with your notebook and tell us more about it! Its been 3 hours since your last update!

ok ok fine make me stop playing with my new toy. As for heat it of course gets lightly warm near the palm rests but nothing to bad, this puppy is dang near quite though. I had fry cry fully cranked (demo on ultra high settings) and it was smooth as glass not to mention quiet. Right now my mom has the family digi cam so no pics as of yet, im really gonna try for tonight though. Again all i have to say is simply wow this machine is impressive! I have come to like the touch pad still not as good as a mouse but its not as bad as i thought it would be. Again the screen is fantastic! i love it. its not ultra tiny print so that i cant read crud but its small enough to make it pratical. The keyboard is very nice as well. I havn't had any of the problems with the three button thing some people did, the keys have a good solid feel to them and they are not ultra small either. thats all i have so far. again any specific questions please feel free to ask!
you're sure about the three button thing? like in an FPS game:

a+w+e+spacebar

meaning run forward, strafe, change weapons, and jump all at the same time?

i think everyone's interested in the battery life too. thanks for taking the time to post!

i dont think the mitac8050 suffered from more than 2 simultaneous key presses (that was the aopen1557g)

u said the palmrest area gets a lil warm, what area? left or right side?

can u test battery life under general use? (explorer, wifi, aol im, typing in word, etc)

and for dvds? and for gaming full load?

the left side gets slight warm. As for the battery time, give me a little while. Ill obviously be testing it over the cruise so like i said expect a full review with plenty of experience. ya i have had no problems with the multiple key thing.

Let the poor kid enjoy his laptop for at lest a little bit.
while he's enjoying his laptop there is another kid (who goes by the name of tourney) about to take a knife and do something very unpleasant to himself because he's so anxious.

My g/f tested her mitac battery life today. She said she got right at 3 1/2 hrs. of battery life doing normal computer . No games or anything . Mainly online chatting and surfing the web. The profile was set for home/office.

-- does the notebook feel nice and sturdy?

i'm so happy for you! finally hehe
damn! only 3.5hr. that's pretty disappointing esp. because it's a pentium m machine.

me too, but then i saw this:

"Are you able to strafe forward in games and then jump (in other words, press a+w constantly and then tap space, and jump. I can't, and HP won't do anything with it, and say that it isn't considered a lack of functionality, although only old standard keyboards have this fault (in my eyes this is a fault))."

(br0ken, in reference to the hp nc6000)

"UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2004 Demo

I tried pressing a+W while tapping space bar and all I got was a forward run that drifted to the left. No jumping at all. Is this what you experienced also?"

(another user, in reply about the system he JUST bought)

which is why i just wanted to ask. didn't think the problem could manifest itself beyond the aopen 1557. hmmm.... well i guess the mitac is ok from what he says, that's reassuring to hear.

isn't 3.5 hour on the "home/office" setting pretty good? won't you get more time out of the battery if she switched it to "max battery" setting?
laozx: do you have a 6 cell or 8 cell battery for the mitac 8050? Thanks man for all the info.
home/office should still function like laptop/portable

its not until you put "always on" does it run full mode
