I am not
I'll try not to take offence to those comments. Yet somehow, I feel compelled to respond after being called "spoiled".
I have enough dignity within me to know my own problems, including being
more fortunate than other people in purchasing their laptop for college. I was given a graduation present - this laptop. I worked at Kroger for some time making minimum wage, but found that it was conflicting with school, and my grades were dropping. After that my parents and I agreed, that it was best to focus more on school than work. I complained (yes I do "complain" sometimes) - saying to my parents that I want to make some money of my own, so I could buy my own things without having to ask. My dad particularly disliked the idea of immediate financial gain and was looking more long-term - how getting through college sucessfully and getting a good job has more monetary potential. Therefore after working at Kroger, I decided to make money my own way, by applying for various scholarships. I won some that potentially can pay thousands every year of my college days - but it doesn't come without some heavy college grade requirements. I therefore strive to study hard, and keep up the good grades - therefore helping my parents save money. As of this summer, other than spending time on the computer, I'm doing vast studying on my future college classes - including reviewing some Advanced Calculus.... yuck
Once I get a good job, I will try in the best of my abilities to repay my parents for all the hard work they have put in to raising me. I deeply thank them.
No, I will not take offence to those comments, but I want you guys to know - I do not believe myself to be a non-working, lazy "spoiled brat".
