This Sux!Things seem to have taken another dip in the road. I think I don't get parents at all. One day my dad's like - "ok...ok...ok" on the whole CL56 laptop purchase, and then after seeing some cheap deals at microcenter he reconsiders!
So here's basically what he said to me: "I found some laptops at Microcenter that have all the features/specs that you said was on that laptop of yours, except the graphics accelerator is not as good. I don't really think that's important. Plus think of your friend Alice (we're going to the same college) who got a $800 laptop at Microcenter that her dad bought."
My response was like: "Dad, I want to play HL2 and DOOM III. I need a good graphics accelerator, and do more things than simply chatting, surfing, word-typing and stuff. I do video editing, web-designing, programming, and boat-load of other stuff that she doesnt do." After talking back and forth, I found out the bottomline - "The price of that laptop is too high, and you can get laptop deals in Microcenter that are Compaq's/HP/etc at cheaper prices with rebates.....
Boy am I steamed.... It's times like this that I wish we didn't get Microcenter newspaper ADs. So he says to wait for the next big "Back-To-School" sale at BB, CompUSA, Microcenter, etc. and see if there's a better priced per spec for my laptop. He said the range of laptops he was eyeing on those ADs ranged from $1300 to $1700.
Seriously, I don't get parents at all. This totally blows. I VOW NEVER TO GET AN INTEL EXTREME GRAPHICS LAPTOP!
