ok, heres the skinny. I have a shuttle SB51G that I bought about a year ago. ran great until I got home last summer to texas and around the end of the summer the video card started artifacting, basically fried it because I dont think the shuttle had enough ventilation...that sucker got hot. my room is rather hot as well cause our AC sucks and im up in the attic heh. this is the 2nd video card thats fried in 2 years (one in an old desktop). I put in another older video card and ran it with the case off for the rest of the summer with no problems. now, does anyone know if I can get a wiremesh cover for the shuttle? the sb51g has a little row of holes down on the side by the video card but they didnt really line up with the fan and I doubt they ventilated it much. I know some of the newer shuttles have completely wire mesh cases, so does anyone know if I could just buy a new cover for my shuttle and where? Or should I have not bought a shuttle in the first place because they dont ventilate well? havent really seen that much on the net about overheating problems... but I am questioning my purchase and wondering if I shouldnt have just gone for some larger tower with lots of fans. regardless, I need to buy a new video card and I dont want it to fry on me again. Is the shuttle worth giving another chance or should I try to sell it on and move up to a new desktop?
