I purchased this Nook Color specifically because I was taking a very long trip to China and wanted to be able to read without carrying a ton of books. I also liked that it had email capability...
This is an awesome mouse with an excellent grip for a mid sized to large size hand. Right-handed, comfortable, trendy, upscale, red, responsive, functional, task oriented.
Overall A+++
Fantastic had this machine 6 months and can honestly say have had no bother with it. Plays games better than most desktops and keeps up with the rest which is outstanding for a...
from my personal experience, no. I tried to put a HD from a IBM T22 (a 20 gig) into my IBM i-Series and it didn't work.
what would you want to do? there are USB adapters for laptop HD's so if you are looking to use your old laptop's HD as a spare space, you can though i never used one so i can't say how well they work.
Im asking this question really because I ordered my 9100 with the 40 gig 4200 rpm drive and am thinking it over now and starting to think I want at least a 60 gig possibly 80 7200 rpm drive....can anyone give me a link to some good after market drives that would fit in my 9100
if it's not too late, why not change your order? if it is, call Dell and see what they can sell you.
You may want to go online and hunt around for places that sell notebook HD's. that might save you some $$... actually a lot of $$$. It's not like Dell uses some sort of special HD but it's like an alternator to a car; Mitsu makes a lot of alternators for all different kind of cars. if you buy a new alternator at your dealer (say Nissan) it might cost $200 while if you go to a mitsu dealer and get the exact same alternator (maybe different part #) for only $120... ask me how i know this:
my gf drives a POS Galant. I had to replace the alternator. I took it out only to find it's the identical to my 93 300ZX Twinturbo alternator!!! Then again, when i replaced my Z's alternator, i did notice the 3 diamond brand name on it. hope this makes some sense to you.
I generally find aftermarket stuff is cheaper then buying it at the time of purchace...such as dell charges more for 1 gig of ram then crucial would charge for it after market..same memory just dell charges more
I would expect things to be the same with hard drive....
ANyone have any suggestions for hard drives that would work?
There are no 80GB 7200rpm notebook disks yet, but Hitachi's 7K60 60GB 7200rpm is a good choice. You can get it for about $215; just search with Froogle.
I bought my 9100 with an 80GB hard drive and found it somewhat slow compared to my friends 3 year old AMD computer. He had a 7200 rpm hard drive. So I swapped mine for a 60 GB 7200 rpm and made a fresh Windows install. Really made a big difference. My laptop is now faster than his computer (that's how it's suppose to be Just look at pricewatch.com for 2.5 inch or 9mm hard drives and they should all be compatible. But If you want to save some $$ just redo your order.
i'm going to replace my 40gb 4200rpm drive with one of these. I can probably sell the 40gb for $100, a lot cheaper than getting it from dell. Same with the memory, i bought 512mb ram from newegg for half the price dell wanted for the upgrade, and i get 2 x 128mb to sell now aswell
