Whoa, lotta replies on this one. Check this
site for an excellent Sony forum, or the rest of the site for anything else you ever wanted to know about digital cameras. I have a Sony DSC-V1 5mp. It has more settings than I'll ever need. My only complaint is that the 1.5" lcd screen is IMPOSSIBLE to read outdoors. I'd definitely got with the larger ones on the T1 or the W1. My lady has a Sony P8, 3.2mp, more pocketable than my V1, and still takes great pix. I think "most any" of the major brand 3.2, 4, 5mp would be suitable, but that's a rather broad statement considering the umpteen number of models out there. The T1 or W1 would be good. There are Nikon, Casio, Olympus, and Canons that would fill the bill. Definitely browse the dpreview site a LOT, even if you only want a simple camera. You can get great "point and shoot" camers for a reasonable price these days, still with enough setting that you can tweak it without having to become Ansel Adams. Good luck and let us know how it goes (or how it went if you have one by now!).
