The image below is a basic illustration to make it simpler.
- Wireless LAN card is already built in with the Sentia.
- Wired LAN card is what should be in your current desktop.
WinXP has built in wireless utility which means that you can do without the Intel ProSet which I mentioned on an earlier post.
By default, the "network icon" is not in the systray, and is not listed when you click START.
Right click the start button, and select properties
scroll down the list and find network - put check mark in box
click OK or Apply all the way out
Clcik START and you will find Network listed.
Right click NETWORK and select SHOW ON DESKTOP
new Network icon is now on your desktop.
Right click the new network icon and click properties
you will find a list of adapters including your wireless card. (Intel 2x00)
Right click the wireless card and click properties
put a check on show icon in taskbar and click OK.
Now that you have this icon on the taskbar, right click on it and it will have the option to show avaoilable wireless networks
It will make more sense from this point.
feel free to ask, if you have any more questions regarding wireless.
