This one has a 60GB instead of a 40. It also has 512, instead of the lower end 256, which Im sure sony sells for about 100+. Then it has wireless G instead of B, as well as a Dothan 1.6, instead of a lower end Banias 1.3-1.6
I imagine that that notebook equiped with the minimum, ends up at around 1500, just like the sony v505ex/dx/ whatever other name they have for it.

thats the lowest of the low i can get for the v505, at least on sonystyle.com. $1700 bucks for a 12.1'' xga with a 9200 32Mb.
you're telling me that the S, with its 13.3 inch xbrite, m10/m11, and superior build quality will be priced at close to 2 grand?
yikes, i don't know about that. i'd love to see it, though.
