No, and why should I?

I use a pair of these Corsair CMXSD512-3200LL sticks:

Sc2ptical, nice pics! But what's with the roll of toilet paper in the first picture? Inquiring minds would like to know.

After seeing the pics here I have a question. Do you guys all leave the stickers on the left palmrest? The first thing I do is rip those hideous things off. Mine came with the 58 minute repair sticker as well, so I had to rip off four.

3. Open the LCD screen as far back as it will go
4. Gently detach the middle cover upward and outwards with the assistance of a plastic flat head screw driver
5. Remove the three screws that secure the keyboard
6. Slide out the keyboard towards the LCD screen
7. Pop out the memory module then remove it
8. Replace the memory module and reassemble everything
Eh.. this sounds like something I would screw up. Could I just upgrade the machine to 768 mb RAM by popping a 512 mb stick in the easily accessible slot under the machine?

Yes, you could just replace one of the memory sticks. I had mine replaced at the store I bought the laptop from, and the guy announced "If I'd known how difficult this is, I'd have refused to do it". He called Acer a couple of times just to get instructions.

Hmm I should maybe add that while it was a lot of trouble to figure out, I wouldn't hesitate to do it myself if I had to. Now that I know how, I have a hard time seeing myself breaking anything. It's designed to be opened up, just scary the first time.

It's perhaps slightly cooler when running on battery, but when on AC they're about the same temperature I think (at least after being on for awhile). This left palm heat issue occurs on all Acer notebooks with the same case design because the HDD is only passively cooled. Acer should have included some kind of heat shield/pipe to better remove the heat from the HDD I think, but it dosen't bother me much though

Anyone else having this problem with their Ferrari? This is about the fifth or sixth time I've gotten this screen in barely two weeks of use. The computer is frozen at this point and you have to use the power button to power down and restart.

No hardware or software has been added to the system. I think I did run the Network setup Wizard, but that's it. I've also done a System Restore and I still get this screen with the following message:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION

If this is the first time you’ve seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Technical information:

*** Stop: 0x0000009c (0x805366f0, 0xB2000000, 0x0007F0F)

Beginning dump of physical memory

The most recent occurrence happened while the machine was put to sleep by closing the lid. When I opened the lid the screen was on with the above message, except that the last two values now read 0xC0000000, 0x00070F0F

Anyone got an idea as to what's going on here?

Perplexed.

The memory is most likely faulty, but check it anyways with Memtest86+ that you can download from here.

Unpack the zip file and burn the memtest86+-1.20.iso file using your favorite CD burning software, e.g. Nero Burning Rom (Recorder -> Burn Image -> memtest86+-1.20.iso -> Open -> Burn), and boot from the CD to run the test. Let it run for a few hours, or untill an error has been detected.

I JUST GOT MY acer ferrari 3200 a few days ago, and I noticed on the first day, the unit runs SUPER SUPER hot on the left side armrest and also on the bottom middle. Is this normal? Has anyone run it for a day with no problem? I got a ANTEC cooler to make it safe, is dere a special way I should orient the cooler?
It shouldn't be warmer than max 15-20 degrees Celcius above ambient temperatures. I recommend that you check the temperatures with MobileMeter that you can download from here.

there is a version of ferrari 3200 which is using 128mb ATI 9200.. this version is US$300 cheaper in my country.. so, i guess, is it able for me to manually upgrade the graphic card later on if i purchased the ATI 9200 to ATI 9700 or higher?
