Conditioning the battery

I did more or less what the manual instructs you to do (see pp. 33-35 in the printed User's Guide for more information):
1. Insert the new battery without turning on the notebook
2. Connect the AC adapter and let it fully charge the battery (until the battery light turns green)
3. Disconnect the AC adapter
4. Turn on the notebook and let it run on battery power
5. Fully deplete the battery (until the notebook turns off)
6. Reconnect the AC adapter and fully charge the battery
Repeat these steps until the battery has been charged and discharged at least 3-4 times. If you want to use AC power, remove the battery pack after it is fully charged since excessive recharging decreases the battery life.
