sorry i might have posted this before but i do not remember... if i have please kindly link me to the answer

whats the deal wit hthe hidden "acerservice" partition? Have any of you ferrari owners converted that to ntfs, and should i do the same? Not the "acer data" but when i open partition magic i can see it.

Also, the ferrari wallpaper keeps loading up on windows restarts. How can i stop that? i tried changing the theme already.

thanks

BTW.. i dont want to just hide it, i want it so that the program doesn't run every startup (when i ctrl alt del it shows up in the programs that i can end task)

u can remove the ferrari program from add/remove in control panel and it'll be gone....should u ever want it again u can install it off the system cd i think

The acerservice partition can be deleted.

I have bought myself a FERRARI 3200 last night and first impression was WOW this notebook looks nicer in real life than seeing pictures on this forum. I did have some doubts about the quality of Acer notebooks before, but I can say I am very happy with this Ferrari notebook!

Snorre, may I ask, when installing the latest Omega Drivers do I need to make some settings? I noticed it was on Default at 450/210 but when i ran Aquamark3 it only scored 11656 and I got 26456 with the Original stock drivers. Am I missing something?

Try re-installing the VIA Hyperion 4in1 chipset drivers and after rebooting check the Advanced SmartGart Options in the Radeon Omega Drivers start menu and see if at least AGP/PCI read are both ENABLED, if all of them are enabled, the better. If that doesn't work, try to uninstall the Omega Drivers (run Driver Cleaner Omega Edition in the Radeon Omega Drivers start menu) and re-install them.

I've been having a couple of small problems with my new Ferrari:
1.The trackpad left click will sometimes activate without my touching it...I'll just be moving the cursor around and it will click on its own.
2.After closing the lid and letting the machine "Sleep", and then returning and firing it back up, the screen is suddenly distorted...sometimes only on the windows log on/off screen, but also sometimes when I restart windows....I have to reboot the machine to get it back to normal.

anyone know what's going on?!!
THanks!

Did you install omega drivers?

I have the same problem as that, and I use the Omega Drivers yes...
1. that is a feature, not a bug... :-) Trackpad is designed to be able to click... :-) You should also be able to do a double-click on it by tapping it with your finger...

This is a known problem with the v2.5.58 drivers and it's fixed in the latest v2.5.67 drivers available here:
http://www.omegadrivers.net/ati/win2k_xp.php

Try updating your drivers.

Well the problem with Omega drivers and corrupt screen after wakeup isn't solved with version rad_w2kxp_omega_2567_7z.exe. The problem seem to be in the RadLinker 1.013 (2.1.1013.0) version (adjustable clock settings).

I deinstalled all Omega drives and reinstalled original Acer ATI drivers, but the proglem was stil there... Then I noticed that the RadLinker program was stil installed and after deinstalling it the Ferrari runs as clean as it should.

Once I even got the problem right after running on AC, closing the top, disconnecting AC and opening it again (on battery). The screen was corrupt so I reconnected AC again and the screen was clear again (untill I disconnected AC again).

The problem could have somthing to do with voltage drop / refresh rate on graphic memory when in sleep mode.

Well the Omega drives looks nice but I don't really need them, the Ferrari is fast enough as it is

waxinator: Good to know that Radlinker can cause these problems, and I'll report this to Omegadrive so it hopefully will be fixed in the next version. A temporarily work-around will be to install the Omega Drivers without Radlinker, simply by deselecting it upon installation.

Damn, my notebook has been stolen (not only my notebook, but also our tv's, pc etc...).
damn, that really sucks ...good luck on getting everything back!

Hello everybody!
It is my first post here.
My technical backround may be described as "Illiterate Ferrarista computer sucker".
I bought an F 3200 in order to retire my old Acer TM 521 and have a problem with it:like on all notebooks you rest your hands on the surface below the keyboard.
The surface on the right-hand side has a normal, neutral temperature.
The surface on the left-hand side has an uncomfortably warm temperature.
If you have kids you know if they have fever by touching their forids: this left hand feels like a good 40C fever.
From what I have tried to gather, the device under the "problem surface" is the HD.

Has anyone here suffered the same problem?
What is it?
Can I fix it?
Should I send the beast back to Maranello and request a replacement?

Thanks for your time guys!
X.

XENOPHON: Welcome to the forums

This warm left palm issue is actually normal on most new Acer notebooks with similar chassis due to only passive HD cooling, including this and the Travelmate 6000/8000 series. Possible solutions to this "problem" would be to replace the HD with one that generates less heat and/or use a good notebook cooler.
What is a notebook cooler?
Up to now I only know how to down load a CPU thermal controler.
But the CPU is not the problem.
X.

I tested the latest version 1.14 of RadLink but it had the same 'feature' http://www28.brinkster.com/chrisww1942/
