This is because "tapping" is enabled in the Synaptics touchpad driver settings:

"Tapping" means quickly touching and then lifting your finger off the TouchPad surface. A light, quick tap works best. Very hard or slow taps are less effective. Tap once for a single click, or twice in rapid succession for a double-click.
You can disable this feature by going to the Control Panel->Mouse->Device Settings->Settings->Tapping and unchecking Enable Tapping.

This is a known bug with the Omega Drivers, but can be fixed by going to the Control Panel->Display->Settings->Advanced->POWERPLAY and unchecking Enable POWERPLAY.

I noticed that too, when I first received my Ferrari this past monday... I changed the power settings from 'portable/notebook' to 'always on' and it jumped up to 1.8 ghz.

To all babies who want's it all but dont't wanna make an effort...

Guys...!?!

I often read these lazy inputs about "not wanting to go thruw the whole discussion forum"... What a crap ! If you are REALLY interested in your new Ferrari, you would just LOVE to read all about it! I wouldn't count all the times Snorre had to repeat him self because of you lazy jokers. You better shapen up or just stay out.

1. First make sure the new battery pack is properly conditioned (see this).
2. Make also sure that the LCD Auto Dim is enabled in the BIOS Main menu.
3. Disable WLAN & Bluetooth with the buttons in front (if you don't use them ofcourse).
4. Go to the Control Panel->Power Options->Power Schemes and Select the Max battery power scheme.
5. Go to the Control Panel->Display->Advanced->POWERPLAY and enable POWERPLAY.
6. I recommend using DVDIdle to save battery life while playing CD/DVDs.
7. If you've upgraded to a Hitachi Travelstar 7K60 hard drive you should enable A.B.L.E. with the Feature Tool (also available on the Ultimate Boot CD).

Hi Snorre, I have upgrade my HDD to the Hitachi 7k60 and also ran the Feature Tool but unable to find A.B.L.E to enable, what is this and where do I enable it.

Thanks for your help

Within the Feature Tool program it's called Advanced Power Mode (Alt-P), so make sure this is enabled. You can even adjust the drive's power consumption and acoustic level (Alt-A) with this tool

I'm not sure, but perhaps one of these overclocking tools will work on the Acer Ferrari 3000:

CPUMSR:

or

8rdavcore:

or

CrystalCPUID 4:

or

ClockGen (CG-RTM560266):

Got my replacement 3200 today. Not the whole kit, just the 'puter itself, no battery, and a few small telltale scratches on the case, indicating it's a refurb. But it does what the first one didn't, which is to connect and maintain a connection on my wireless network.

So far, so good.

Problem with connecting the TV

Hello everyone. I too am a proud owner of this fantastic Ferrari 3200 notebook, but I have run accross a problem that I would like to receive help with.
I have an older model of TV by Philips, and I would be very interested to use it as my second display, but unfortunately it just shows me everything in black & white. I don't believe that there's any problem with the TV itself, as normal channels work just fine, it's just the EXT1&2 that are receiving their signal from the notebook through S-Video cable (with the SCART-adapter) that doesn't want to use colors. I have tried all PAL/NTSC options, and they present no changes at all.

Does anyone know what could be the problem and how to fix it? (Is there any definite difference with 4 or 7 pin S-Video cable? *doesn't believe that would be the cause*)

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No, there's no region free (RPC-1) firmware available for the Panasonic UJ-825S drive in the Acer Ferrari 3200 yet AFAIK. I use DVDIdle Pro instead, since that also includes DVD Region+CSS Free

guilherme: What do you need PCI Express in a laptop for?
