what to put in the pcmcia slot?

so, what can i put in my pcmcia slot II card? its always empty, i never use the darn slot, what can i store in it?

i recall a thread somewhere that had a small usb hub fitting in it, but i think that was for a type III slot.

how about a small and slim remote, i believe acer was making one that will fit in the unused slot, anything available out there thats comparable?

what else can we fit in it? credit card holder.

no dirty jokes now......

I have my wireless card in mine. You can also put a USB 2.0 card in the slot if your lappy does not have USB 2.0.

i have a wi-fi card built in my laptop and 3 usb 2.0 already, anything else? i really want a mini usb hub to fit in there or a remote, that would be sweet

that requires subscription from a wireless provider right? i'm on t-mobile and i've got my cell phone connected usb for wireless laptop use....so don't need a sierra card.

hmm i have one.....you can duct tape all the fan exausts and stick in somethign like a sandwhich! and vuala, toast!

hmmm, i can try that.

say, i need a good external tv tuner, i have a really old usb 1.1 tv tuner, but its horrible in picture quality, does getting usb 2.0 tv tuner make a difference?

even better, a pc card tv tuner, do those exist, let me google that. hmmmmm

i dont think they do, new egg has alot of usb ones, there much better now then a couple of years ago, i plan on getting one for my room since i do not have a tv in my room, if you happen to find one that goes into the pc card slot that would be totally awsome

i have no tv either, at least i can watch somewhat with this old tuner, 4 channels, woohoo!

a pc card tv tuner would be nice, u wouldn't have to plug or string anything along.

i've seen a few compact usb 2.0 tv tuners, credit card size, but there are alot out there, which one is good though?

I use a Compactflash to PCMCIA adapter in mine.

You could get an Echo Indigo sound card.

I posted similar thread a few weeks ago. I think a GPS card would be very xool!. You can download the software for free, no subscription required!! Very cool I think on trips, or for kicks. Eartviewer is cool to look at too!

that's a sweet anti-theft device too lol...they should build it into the motherboard though, a smart thief would just rip it out of the PCMCIA slot...
