2 cents moreClevo and Sager have never been known as "Tier 1" laptop vendors. Just recently, with the improvements in the desktop CPUs and the never-ending quest for power, they have vaulted ahead in techie/enthusiast mindshare as the laptop to get for the absolute most power. This is a unique opportunity for these companies to really move into the Tier 1 group. If they can be the first to get a fully operational hyperthreaded 3 GHz chip in a laptop, the entire industry will take notice! Same thing with the proverbial QXGA display. What you want is people to be saying, "Hey, this little taiwanese company did this before IBM, HP/Compaq and Toshiba! They must really have something going on. Where can I get one of these beauties?"
My personal list of what I'm waiting for before purchasing an 8886:
- 3.06 GHz (or higher) CPU with Hyperthreading fully enabled.
- 15.7" or larger UXGA screen
- QXGA 16" screen
- 2 GB RAM
- 60 GB 5400RPM drives
Hope I'm not dreaming!
