Some fan/heat issues

Hello all,
I got my i5150 and I ran Turbo C++ 3.0 on it. To my utter most horror, after minutes I heard the fan spinning like mad, and my CPU usage was 50 plus percent. I ran only Turbo C++. Can anyone tell me what is the root of this problem. If you are willing to help me further, can you please download a copy of Turbo C++ 3.0 at www.chs.edu.sg/`kohkt/download/turboc.exe It is about 4.2MB. Point to note. When you have downloaded it, DO NOT DOUBLE CLICK IT. I warn you. Or else, you will mess up with the folder where you downloaded it. Right-click it and select extract to. Then just select the folder where you want to extract to.
Thanks

Why don't you install it on another computer for checking? A CPU usage of 50% would be normal if you actually worked with the compiler, not just sat idle. I don't know anything about this compiler, but some old programs are CPU-hungry under WinXP.

I have been using this compiler on another computer running win98se. And it is perfectly alright. I don't have other computers running on winxp

When I moved from Win98SE to WinXP, I had to stop using some old programs because of their excessive CPU use (WinXP emulates some features of older OS-s, which requires intensive CPU use).
