Calculating battery life for AMD-64 CPUs

post #1 of 2
Thread Starter
Given:
Capacity in milliamp hours (mAH) / average amperage in milliamps (mA) = battery life in hours

I know that the battery for the Clevo 470K holds 4400mAH, but I can't figure out what the average amperage draw is for, say, an AMD-64 DTR 3400+ (85W). I've scanned AMD's website, but can't find anything. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

TIA.

W = V*I

Check the default voltage for the CPU, divide the total wattage by that and you have your amperage draw.

EDIT: Actually, now that I think about, I doubt a CPU counts as a two-terminal device, so that equation doesn't work...
