It's here.......My i8600c!!

Just arrive about 30 minutes ago. Already set up and running.

My first impression:
1) very cheap plastic feel compared to my Compaq and Sony Notebooks.
The pastic feels flemsy and has a lot of give to it, I suspect it will break or crack easy.

2) Atleast a pound lighter than my Compaq.

3) My WSXGA Screen looks great and has no dead pixels, a little light leakage at the bottom. I don't think it will be a problem, I noticed that my Compaq has about the same light leakage at the bottom also. The screen is a lot brighter than my Compaq also.

4) The wireless 1450 was easy to set up.

5) Seems to be a lot faster than my Compaq.

I'll have a better review in a day or so.

Now back to my toy...................................

Can some tell me how to post pics, My posting rules says not attachments.

You have to post pictures in the "Pictures" section.

The display on my 8600 is very nice. The graphics are great. I have been playing Tomb Raider AOD and Laura looks great. I have found only one problem when playing TAOD, when Laura talks, it sounds like she being played on a tape player at high speed. I have already updated the sound card driver, which was no help, but I have installed some games patches that I have yet to try. (Anybody experience this?)

So far I'm very satisfied with my new i8600.

My memory arrived, so I now have 1.0GB of memory.

The touch pad is not as bad as I thought it would be. I actually like it. The 8600 I played with at the Dell store at the mall, the touch pad did not work very well. It also had a mouse stick.

Can't wait till tomorrow when I can play some more. If I didn't have to get up at 0400 for work I would stay up most of the night playing with it.

Concerning the touchpad, note that it is highly configurable. It is really worthwhile to spend some time on adjusting its settings according to one's wishes.
