batter care tips???

I just got my 8880 back and they had to replace the batter. Now how do I prevent this. I am told that the batter in this is not the kind that must be fully discharged and recharged to condition it. Is that true? Should I fully discharge it three or four times and then keep doing it every time I use it on batter? Or should I keep it fully charged? Just trying to prevent this from happening so soon again.

I believe in the manual it says the following:
at least once a month let the battery completely drain then recharge it fully overnight.

Though the new batteries don't develop a memory they can start to degrade if not used. It's always a good idea to let the battery fully charge before using the computer again with the battery installed.

I like to turn off all power settings then let it drain completely and turn itself off. Then I give it a couple minutes and hit the power button a few times until it won't even turn on. Then I let it recharge overnight.

thanks

I have been running for almost an hour and a half and the new batter still says I have 45 min/35% left. I know that is usually high, but considering my old one had about 30 minutes with a full charge, I am happy. I usually run on power since I use it at home in my living room chair with a power strip on the floor behind it and at my office where I plug in right away. But at least now I know I can probably get a good two hours.
