Couldn't wait any longer. Actually I could've waited about 3 more weeks or maybe a month or so. But I decided not to, I felt that these specs and especially the price worked with my budget.
My budget was first 1,500 - then lowered it down to $1,400.
I thought about getting a i600m, due to it's more portability but then I thought about it and I realized the chance of me taking my laptop around with me alot was slim to none. I'll take it to the University library every once in a while - but other than that , probably just sit on my desk and work on things that way. I will not take it traveling or on plane trips, or to the local starbucks.
Because of this reasoning I decided to take on the extra weight and purchase a i8600, and instead grab it's beautiful 15.4" widescreen display.
The main specs of the refurbished computer are as follows:
Processor:Pentium M @ 1.4Ghz
Display:WSXGA+ Hitachi

Memory:256 MB RAM 1 DIMM (Upgraded to 768MB through Crucial later on...)
Hard Disk:30 Gig HDD @ 4200 RPM (Good enough for me... I can always tack on a new HDD if needed)
Modular Bay:4X NEC DVD/+RW Writer (Again -- if I need more HD space back it up on a DVD disc)
Dedicated Video Card:32MB Video card (Don't play video games on my computer really -- that's what my roommate's X-Box and my Playstation 2 are for. Could always be upgraded if needed as well!)
Wireless LAN Card:Intel Pro 2200 Wireless Card (I wanted the Centrino sticker and boot up... looks spiffy in my opnion. I have wireless capability here at my parent's house and at the University's library.)
Warranty:Three year, at home, limited warranty (Must have this .... for my mom this has been a life saver for her, she's pretty much getting an entire new computer through Dell because of her overheating i5100 notebook)
Everything else is your standard Dell stuff, software and everything.
Total (at my door) price: 1,362..... Underbudget

So I'm happy... I built a brand new one up through Dell, with the only difference being the processor a 1.5, whereas the one I bought is a 1.4Ghz , and it was , 1,700 after $150 rebate.
Needless to say I'm very happy---- should be mailed by this time next week.

Now time to read more reviews and think to myself "Yup... I'll have one of these soon enough."
Now I owe my parents around $800 .... but todays payday.
J.
