Built-in flash card reader

Thread Starter
Hello, I´ve bought a notebook Asus A2D, but I don´t know how to make its built-in flash card reader work! Does anyone have an idea how to do this? I use fedora Core 2 with kernel 2.6.5-1.358.
Thanks in advance!

It may be seen as a scsi device. Is it attached via an internal usb port?

No, it's not via usb! it's built in the notebook!!!

I think you misunderstand. The card reader has to use a bus to be seen. On the sagers the multi card readers show up as USB devices. While in windows where does it show up in device manager. Do an lspci or search the kernel logs for entries relating to the reader.

I've tried to search it like an usb device, but it doesn't show when I type the lsmod command. I've also tried to mount it /dev/sda & /dev/sga, but it says that it's not a valid block device. Maybe I must apply the patches for the USB flash card readers to manage to mount it?

Can you post your kernel logs, output of cat /proc/bus/pci, and cat /proc/bus/usb. lspci is also good. dmesg reader also.

On the Asus M6N it doesn´t work AFAIK. I think it´s the same as in yours. You can try to take a look @ http://mrhammy2.ath.cx:81/forum/viewforum.php?f=1 . It´s a forum for the M6N and linux

The card reader is attached via PCI bus I haven't tested it yet but as soon as I do it, I'll post here.
