Two choices!

8887/8 vs 5760

Has anyone had experience with Cardbus to full size PCI expanders? Like the ones from MAGMA www.magma.com If so... would the cardbus have enough throughput to use my existing VIDEO/TV CARD (full size PCI) so that I can watch TV, play PS2 games etc. on a 5760?

I am so close to Buying a Sager... I just need to consider two more choices:

1. Is there an alternative for inputing live video souce into the 5670? (like a usb videocard/ cardbus to PCI expander/ other)

2. I have a serial port fetish. I need one for various ALARM interfacing and electronics projects) and I am not too familiar with the reliability of the USB to SERIAL converters. (Programmers speak up! what are the implications of writing out code to output to the usb device to connect to a serial device, as opposed to writing directly to the serial port on the 888?)

It seems the smart buy would be the 888? because it has the TV card option as well as the most I/O options....like SERIAL. but the 5670 has second bat. option, the nicer though not as big screen, and it is not as bulky as the 888?.

These are just some things I was considering and would love to get your opinion!

Thanks.

BTW. For any CANADIANS in ONTARIO... MAXIMILLION computers in KITCHENER is now distributing the EUROCOM computers at a resonable price. (No I dont work for either company, just stating what I found out!) Sorry Adam... I would love a SAGER but the shipping and other costs to get it here....work out about the same as the eurocom that I can drive and pickup in person! Now if only I can find someone to PAINT IT!

I am mistaken......... they (EUROCOM) dont have the upgraded 5600 yet.... so no 128m cards or upgraded screens yet in canada!
