Another for Firefox 0.8. There's no going back to IE once you've tried Firefox. RIP IE

mc2, since you're using Moz 1.6, you might as well finish the jump and try Firefox.

I disagree. I used Firefox .8 for 2 weeks or so, exclusively, to test it out (I have a friend that hates IE with a passion and was constantly bugging me to try it). Too many pages I ran across were very oddly formatted, and I had many instances of Firefix just closing itself in the middle of surfing. The only explanation being found in Event Viewer of Firefox encountering an error and closing. I went back to IE6 and the Google Toolbar, it hasn't happened again since.

I do like the tabbed browsing better, but there's some stuff that Firefox did that I hated, like always resusing windows for shortcuts (with no option to change it).

Firefox 0.9 RC1

Firefox lets you change font size with ctl +/-, but can you change it with the mouse wheel like Mozilla? I didn't see any mouse wheel options in firefox.

CTRL + mouse wheel up and down

Does that, EH

I use opera, ever since it first came out. Unless they stop updating it, I will use it forever. I love being able to disable popups, unless it is one I click on. I also like all of the windows being within one task bar item, and being able to close them all with one click. ....as well as being able to resume where I was last browsing. I'll stop there, before I fill up the page. I have 7.23, didn't know 7.5 was out, I need to update.

This was better discussed previously, in off topic. (http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=18620)
I use opera & IE (on occasion)

For new links, just click the wheel and it'll open the link in a new tab I hate when new windows open- that's the whole reason I like the tabbed viewing.

Strange that Firefox doesn't like you, although I understand where you're coming from. Version 0.7 didn't like me and I stuck w/ Mozilla. When 0.8 came out, I gave it another try and now I'm fine. Only problem is that IE deals w/ Japanese fonts better. Firefox is still growing up in that regard.

If you want tabbed browsing in IE, I do believe there are plug-ins that will allow you that function in IE. Google should square you away on that regard

Hrm, I'll have to look into that. Wasn't aware that existed for IE. Thanks!

Oh, and I don't have wheel to click, I use a Logitech Marble Mouse.

Time to go find those tab plugins!

I use Mozilla, Opera, Firefox, and IE ONLY if the site is imcompatible in the other 3.

I've been using firefox since it was called phoenix. Since .7 i have never had it crash on me, not ounce. I don't understand why people say it doesn't render pages right, it renders just about everything perfect for me.

The speed is just much faster, especially the newest one, .9rc1. Much faster than IE, Avant, myIE, and opera.

some times i have problems with not having correct plugins, and there is the occasional page that wont work correctly.
but nothing that is worth sacrificing the speed of firefox
