What Browser do you use? - Page 3

I use Firefox 0.9 RC1 at the office and on my laptop, Mozilla 1.7RC3 for my home desktop (because I'm too lazy to switch over to Thunderbird). The only time I use IE is for Windows Update and on the rare occasion (though may be more in the future...<sigh/>) when running the clientside ActiveX stuff at the office...

Sorry to put this information in here, not meaning to try and hijack the thread or anything, but it seemed appropriate if anyone considers Opera. I asked this before on the forum (may have been on the AW side, can't remember) and really received no answer.

Alot seem to use opera as a browser. Does anyone have problems with this and PM's on notebook forums. For whatever reason, this doesn't work for me. Everything appears to work fine, but when I send one on opera, it doesn't send. Thought maybe it was a setting or something. So I end up using IE for PM's on here.

Just sent a test PM to you via Opera.

Thanks. It did work. It appears this is maybe working on mine now. Before (the first 10-15 I sent) It would never post to my box, and the users never got them, it took 3 weeks before I figured out no one ever got responses. I probably looked like a real *******. It seems like it is working now. Definately alot easier than having to go to IE for PM's. Just let me know if you got my first response that just said the two words "It Worked".

Thanks again.

edit 1 - Another note for anyone with this problem, before I had pop-ups disable, in the course of the last few months, I went to "open requested pop-ups only". Can't remember if it was before or after. That may have been the problem though for anyone else having this problem. Didn't think it was because it didn't seem like a pop-up, but maybe it acts as one on the Submit???

Received both, and responded to both. Hope this is helping somewhat.

Helped alot, thanks. See my edit above, that was probably the cause.

And sorry for the brief hijack, but for anyone with opera, play around with the pop-up option if your PM's don't work.

Thanks again.

Does anyone use Netcaptor? I like it because I can open several sites at once, and I like the layout much better than Mozilla.

Might give Opera a try, then. Tabbed browsing (ie, having multiple sites open at once) has been a feature since v 3.x or v 4.x (can't recall at the moment).

Even on older machines, I found I could have 25 to 30 sites (tabs) open at once, with no discernable system performance degradation. On newer machines, often have reached up to 50 with nary a problem. Over 50, and I become the bottleneck (not the machine).

I actually downloaded and tried Firefox 0.9. I don't think it's quite ready yet by the number of "not working" posts on Mozillazine.

I've had no problems with firefox, except for a couple of extensions messing up my profile. But if you don't want to play around with extensions the firefox .9 works perfect.

Desktop: Mozilla 1.6 (need mail)
Laptop: Firefix 0.8 (speed/low ram footprint)

IE sucks ASCII
