What Video card comes in the ASUS W1? Is it available with an ATI 9700 128 mb? How heavy is it? What are the specs of the DVD burner?

Techanimal,

Here is the configuration that I have. I think fishbait acquired it through a different supplier and may have slightly different specs

Intel Pentium-M 1.7GHz; 1MB Cache; 400MHz FSB
15.4" WSXGA+ Widescreen (1680 x 1050)
Asus W1N w/ Intel 855PM Chipset
768MB DDR333 (Expandable to 2GB)
80GB; 5400RPM (may swap this out for the 60 GB Hitachi 7200)
ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 PRO w/ 64MB VRAM
Built-In Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 B/G miniPCI
DVD Burner
8-Cell Li-Ion; 4 hours of use
Windows XP Pro w/ SP1a
1.24" thick / 7LBS
2 year global parts and labor through ASUS
Free Targus Carrying Case, Headset, Logitech Aluminum Optical Mouse, 3 3D Games, 4-in-1 Memory Card Reader

Thats a sweet rig though i'd prefer the Radeon 9700. What are the specs of your DVD burner? Is it really 7 pounds or is that the weight as advertised?

awesome site...great pictures...but it brought up another question for me atleast...a little off topic, but do keyboards that are made for germany, russia, etc, have the different characters that are part of country 'x' language? and what about like china, or japan, who has a different character for every word?

Yes, many languages have their own keyboard layout. The Chinese use the Pinyin system which relies on the french alphabet and also the Five-strokes system, so their keyboard have english characters as well as common parts of chinese words, one from each category on each key. I imagine the Japanese keyboard would use the Hiragana and Katakana system, and would derive Kanji from those two.
