Need thin & light graphics laptop with a very good screen.... - Page 2

yea i was just about to say that but ive been busy the passed couple days.. by the way thanks for that websight tellin like all those computers and its resellers... helps a lot

yea so if u can get a better screen with a 1.8 ghz pentium M with a ati 9700 128 mb wouldnt u get that instead of the cl-56 if u were willing to fork over 100-150 more dollars?

basicly what would u do, get the better lookin laptop (to my taste) with the same specs, and a better screen... or get the other laptop with a good screen but not as good as the other one with the same specs... but u pay like 150 dolars less...

Well for 15in displays you got 2 choices. WVA (wide viewing angle) which look great from almost any angle, but have really bad ghosting. Or a standard screen which you have to look at from the sweet spot or the colors are off, but has no ghosting.

All WVA 15" screens ghost heavily??
I didn't think so.
Are you referring to the "IPS technology" WVA 15" displays, or standard LCD's?? The SONY XBrite and Fujitsu are examples of the IPS.
I ask this because I am looking at 2 systems with WVA screens that are totally different:
1.) IBM T42 15" SXGA+ with Flexview (is IPS but supposed to be non-reflective). The knock on this display (supposedly) is that it is very slow (60ms total) and does exhibit noticeable ghosting in some games, others not.
2.) HP nc8000 15" SXGA (WVA) is NOT IPS, but is a standard LCD.
I didn't think that the mere fact that the screen is WVA will cause ghosting, without it being an IPS technology screen????
Can you (or someone) clarify please??
Thanks,
Andrew
