Video on 8890 and DAOC

Anyone play dark age of camelot on their 8890? I continually get crashing problems. I tried the latest 7.97 drivers, the 7.95 drivers, the 7.93 drivers and the new Omega (4.5 based) drivers. The best one is the 7.93 drivers, but I still crash intermittently. Which is to say, I crash once an hour when playing the game vs once every 2-3 minutes.

This is definitely driver based, since I get differing results depending on which driver I am using.

Can anyone assist?

Thanks!

it's probally bad memory sticks or dust in your fans.
Im running DAoC (with/without TOA) without any problems atm. (all drivers work for me)

I once had problems with crashes in DAoC but they were fixed when I replaced my bad memory.
Later I had problems with slowdowns (and reboots) which was fixed by vacuuming my 8890

try running MEMTEST from http://www.memtest86.com/
keep it running for about 3-4 hours and see if you get any errors. All other memtest programs I tried didnt detect my bad memory.

most of the early shipped 8890 had bad memory-sticks from what I've read.

Same problems as you, I have to use the 7.93 drivers since they crash the least. I don't crash very often with them though, certainly not every hour. I don't seem to crash at all when I am not using the ToA client though, haven't had enough problems to check it out further.

Glad to see someone else is having similar problems.....was thinking that I was alone there. I will have to turn off TOA client and see if it helps any.

I had similar problems with Star Wars Galaxies, wonder if they are using some similar instruction that is causing the driver to fail? Guess I will continue to wonder till my next upgrade......
