Hello

I have the 8790 and I am trying to capture video from
my camcorder via the video input port. I can plug in my
cable tv and everything looks excellent. I plug in my
camcorder and the image is horrible. Im useing good quality
cables and I have tried fine tuning the input settings in the
Avert Tv Studio II program I am useing and same results.

Anyone else out there run into this problem and have a solution
I can try. Thanks in advance for any help put there.

Are you using S-Video or the RF plug?

Video capture problem

Im useing the Rf plug...my video cam does not have an s-video out. My system is completely updated with all the latest patches available.

For Cable, your tuner is probably set to NTSC-HRC. For the Video camer it might just be NTSC without the extensions. Then play the cameral and accomplish a channel scan and see if that does the trick.

Also does the camera have an RF out or is it a Video Out (RCA Plug colored yellow)?

Do you have a Firewire port on the camera ?

I also ran into the same problem with my 4780. It was solved by purchasing a RCA to S-video adaptor. I put my camera RCA into the adaptor (~$28) and then a short S-video cable from the adaptor to the S-video input. I went into AVerTV program setup to the channel tab and selected S-video for input. It works great for video capture (I capture thermal images and ultrasound images to later show clients in my veterinary practice).
