Closing the lid doesn't work anymore

2 days ago. closing the lid was resulting in putting the Laptop to sleep ( 8887 )...

As of this morning, I open the lid and the computer is running the screensaver...

Pressing the little white button, on the top corner, froze the computer

I checked my settings and nothing changed, the computer should go on standby when the lid is closed.

No drivers changed recently.

Change closing the lid to something else, reboot, and then change it back, reboot. Then see if it works again.

Ok - I just pressed it and it went in Stand by - But now, of course, the little button is stuck... Just great... At least, it doesn't keep on going in stand by...

Pressing on it with a little sharp object doesn't release it or put the computer on standby. Do I have to open the laptop to try to unblock it ?

Well if it does not become unstuck by itself and you have the Service Manual then you might try to fix it. But you could make it worse.
