$3227, not including the additional 1GB of memory I'll be purchasing separately (I can get it far cheaper than they would've charged), or a copy of WinXP Pro (I have a spare unopened CD through my job) or my wireless router (again, I can get one far cheaper than HS).
That price includes an additional AC adapter as well.[/edit]

I called the rep today to discuss this as well. One thing he mentioned was that the initial ship date doesn't take into account how many orders were placed before yours. They eventually do the math, estimating how many days it'll take to customize and test all the orders ahead of yours, and recalculate the new shipping date accordingly. Paint jobs (or more accurately, the time required to allow the paint to dry between coats) obviously adds several days to this. Older orders are always given priority; a failed component doesn't always mean being sent to the back of the line behind newer orders. So one unit encountering a problem during the burn-in could potentially push shipping dates for newer orders back even further.
Now I understand a little bit better why delays happen. It still sucks, tho
