battery meter on gnome2.4 on gentoo

Thread Starter
with standard gnome2 installation, a battery meter app is included for notebook comps. My friend's Dell 8500 works correctly with this battery monitor. The bat monitor on my Sager 5670 shows up as dead battery only, wheather it is fully or partially charged or plugged in. Anybody know how to fix this? Any input appreciated. Thanks,

DP

Have you emerged gKrellm? That's what I use. I was using gnome 2.4.2 I just went to 2.6 and gkrellm still works. I can'teven find a battery meter by default. Also do you have the acpi=force in your grub.conf. I couldn't get several things working till I did that. BTW I'm running 2.6.3-gentoo-r1.
