Geim9k,

Please do so. I have been looking at iBuypower as one of my vendors bx they offer the 4x DVD +/- burner. I have been wondering though if the $100 paint job is worth anything or is poor quality.

THe only review mentioned a rather large paint chip.

Did they mention anything about returns due to paint defects ?

If you look at the pictures docsavage, the paint chip is not "rather large". It is tiny in fact.

Hey you all,

I just joined notebook forums today, but I've been keeping up with this thread.

Anyways, you all have been really helpful in my decision to buy a laptop, and I ended up ordering an Ibuypower E series. It should arrive tomorrow, and hopefully I will be able to get a quick review up sometime next week.

Specs are similar to Kriten's except my HDD is 5400 rpm.

Also, I am not really a hardcore computer guy (mechanical engineer), so I might need to get some instructions on what benchmarking stuff I need to do.

I'll keep you all posted.

I just called Ibuypower. My laptop was originally supposed to ship on tuesday, but they pushed it back today, and now they said it wont ship until tomorrow. I usually don't mind the wait, but I'm out of town during the week, and this extra day will add a whole week of wait time. It's kind of annoying.

This drops them down a few notches on my list.

I ordered my Battalion E Turbo a few days ago also (I think Tuesday).

- Pentium M Centrino 1.6 GHz
- 1024MB RAM DDR-333 PC-2700
- 60GB 7200RPM HD
- ATI Radeon Mobility 9700 128

plus all the other standard stuff that comes with it.

This is my first post but I've been following the forum extensively for the short while I've been around. The info I've picked up here helped me make my final decision on a notebook for college this fall. Thanks guys.

I'm not sure when it's supposed to ship or anything. The website says July 1st as the ship date, so I'll give it about a week after that date, according to what I've heard about their promptness.

Here's hoping I don't have any dead pixels. A 'naner to start the ritual off!

Hi and welcome

Happy Monday, and welcome my friends,

I figured while I wait for my laptop (which supposedly will deliver today) I'll update you guys with my Ibuypower buying experience.

My ordering experience was good. Like Stomp, I spoke with Lee, and he was very helpful. When I ordered, cyberpower was cheaper, and Lee matched their prices. He gave prompt replies to my email, and had my order number and information ready within 20 minutes after my order. I'd give it a straight up 5 out of 5.

Waiting... That's a different issue. Actually it wasn't too bad. When I ordered my laptop on the 14th of June (I think), the expected ship date was the 22nd. However, since I did not rush, an extra few days was expected. The thing that annoyed me was when I called, and I was told the laptop would ship the next day for 3 days. Eventually, the laptop shipped the night of the 24th, after calling them 3 or 4 times that day. I'll give this 3 out of 5.

Shipping:
I haven't received my laptop yet. People who have read my previous post may wonder why, because Ibuypower did end up shipping it on Thursday. The reason for this is because Fedex messed up. What are the chances that the same package is going to miss the flight Thursday night, and get on a delayed flight Friday night? I guess it's just fate. This seems to be a freak occurance, because Fedex has usually been good about getting over night deliveries on time. I called Fedex multiple times to see if I could pick up my laptop over the weekend, but alas, it never happened. They did say that I can call up the shipper and try and get some shipping refunds. Since this seems to be a chance occurance, and not the fault of Ibuypower, I will not rate shipping until I see how my computer has been packaged.

As a side note, checking order status online is completely useless. If you want updates, you have to call them up. Also, they do not seem to like picking up phone calls on Saturdays.

The weird thing is that I ordered a computer from Ibuypower a few years back, and their service was way better, no delays, and I never had to call them to get updates. I think my computer actually shipped out early. The customer service of many companies seems to be going in a downward spiral.

Anyways, I hope this information is relevant and helpful.

I'll try and keep you guys updated.

My Laptop is coming (aopen). ETA today at 1-3pm.

So I start my review now.

IBUYPOWER Customer care (5/5)

My representative was Lee; the ordering process was fast and easy got exactly what I asked for. He answered questions without having to check for reference or having me call another department to find out. Got my Customer number and email notification almost instantly. The was a 1 day delay in billing due to bad cell phone reception so no fault to them. I ordered a 3-day rush and got a 3-day rush. From point of billing transaction to product shipping date, they do not count the day you actually order the product the rush starts when billing is completed. Also Lee had giving me a direct number to call him if there were any question or I wanted a real time check on the progress of my computer so props to Lee. On day of shipment I received my tracking number along with receipt of order.

FedEx Standard overnight shipping (5/5)
My tracking number worked, and tracking info was updated constantly Today (28th) I can see the at 7:30am my laptop was picked up on the docks and sent out ETA is 1-3pm for delivery.

Tons of photos and review to come today/tomorrow/and the next day.
