Bad paint?

I have a 8790 clone and after 1.5 month using it paint has gone off in some places ontop of the screen.

I only had my laptop upside down once when I and a computer tecnician applied arctic silver to my laptop, and that time I had some newspaper under to protect the laptop.

Is it normal that the paint goes off that fast?Anyone else had this problem?

Propably I can't fix it with the warranty, the company I bought it from says that the warranty does not cover cosmetical issues.

They said they would talk to Clevo about the problem.

A new plastic cover over the screen should cost about 50$.

I showed the notebook at my local computer store and the technician that applied the arctic silver, and they think it is very strange that the paint has gone off so fast.

Is there anything I can do about the problem?Use some paint, some protection tape or anything?

That is odd, typically paint wears off over time where you'd expect it to (under the hands/palm-rests and such). I'd contact your reseller and ask them if they can order a replacement lid (if it's even possible).

I can get the replacement lid,but it would cost 50$,because the paint problem is a cosmetical problem, and will not cover from the warranty.

And if I replace it myself, the warranty will expire.

Will see what Clevo have to say about the problem.

Is there any paint I can use to paint over the places where the paint has gone off?

Anyone know what the colornumber of the paint is?

Maybe I will stick with the notebook, even with bad paint, because the notebook has been wonderful,no dead pixels or anything

Color Number? We don't even know what color your paint is! Is it just the standard 8790 blueish? (i didn't think that was painted)

I think getting that info would be easy from who ever you bought it from...

Sorry.

It is the standard blue color....

There's always DUCT TAPE - the nice 2" - 3" wide silver kind! That'd look urbanized!
