It looks like it might be possible to enable HT on non-HT chips.

The 2.8Ghz CPU in my 5660 was detected as having the Hyper Threading Technology. But the HT was disabled in the mocrocode.

If someone can write a CPU flash crack with the required microcode I will be able to enable HT on this CPU. Maybe this is what Alienware is working on...

Wasn't this posted a while ago that ALL P4's have HT there, just not enabled in the cpu?

Maybe it was another forum/site, but I recall something about ALL P4's have it built-in, just not activated (which is not something that can be done in BIOS/software).
